Application Override is a feature in Palo Alto Networks’ firewalls that helps manage and improve network performance by letting you set specific rules for how certain types of traffic should be handled. Instead of the firewall trying to figure out what an app is on its own, you tell it exactly how to treat that traffic, which can be useful for apps that are hard to identify due to encryption or custom setups. To set it up, you log into the firewall’s web interface, create a new policy with details about the traffic, and decide whether to allow or block it. After setting it up, you need to check if it's working correctly by looking at traffic logs and using tools to capture data.
